Saenz has led the Bowie HS volleyball program since 2015, reaching the regional playoffs twice and area playoffs twice. He previously coached at Regents School of Austin, racking up eight TAPPS state appearances, including three runner-up finishes and a TAPPS state championship in 2006.
Saenz’s club record boasts a National Championship with his 16's Junior Nationals American Division in 2021 and his 18's Junior Nationals team qualified for the Open Division in 2019. He also spent 11 years as head coach of Austin Performance Volleyball Club, where he qualified for nationals six times and was named Coach of the Year in 2012.
A graduate of Texas State University, Saenz earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Geography and holds certification in Physical Education, EC-12. He played college volleyball at Tomball College (two years) and Texas State (two years).
Saenz was introduced to the Westlake volleyball team on May 19. He will transition to the Chaps full-time beginning in August. He replaces Marci Laracuente, who stepped away from the position in April.
