Visitor Information

Parking

  • North Parking Lot next to stadium, exit off of Camp Craft Road.
  • West Parking Lot located next to the WHS Performing Arts Center, exit off of Westbank Drive.
  • Softball Parking Lot located across from the WHS Ninth Grade Center, off of Westbank Drive.
  • WACC Parking Lot located on north Westbank Drive next to Loop 360.

Stadium Rules and Regulations

 

  • Chaparral Stadium follows a Clear Bag Policy.
  • Gates will open one hour prior to game time for spectators.
  • Students will not be allowed to leave the stadium and return once the game has started.
  • No student backpacks permitted in the stadium.
  • All bags are subject to search.
  • No loitering will be permitted. Spectators must sit in the stands and keep off the rails. Aisles should be kept clear at all times. Spectators may not cross to the other side of the stadium.
  • No outside food or drink may be brought into the stadium.
  • Items such as frisbees, balls, bats etc., are not allowed in the stadium.
  • No cannons, train horns, artificial noise makers, laser pointers or confetti allowed.
  • Spirit signs must be positive in nature and attached with zip-ties to the stadium
  • Umbrellas cannot be used in the seating area, courtesy of fan viewing and safety.
  • No folding chairs permitted – bleacher cushions are acceptable.
  • State laws and school district policies prohibit the use of tobacco products in any form (including e-cigs), alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, powder products and weapons of any sort on school district property.
  • Animals are not allowed in the stadium.
  • No airborne materials or devices (ex: drones) of any kind.
  • Food, drinks, gum, sunflower seeds and tobacco are prohibited at all times around or on the field areas.
  • Only emergency vehicles may be parked inside the stadium. No vehicles of any kind are allowed to drive on the field surface; including trailers and golf carts.
  • Victory lines shall be limited to drill team and cheerleaders only.
  • Only credentialed authorized personnel will be allowed on the field or in the press box area before the game, at halftime, or after the game. Individuals on the field or surrounding area must present a sidelines pass. Each school is responsible for their sideline.
  • No one under the age of 18 years old may enter the press box – with the exception of uniformed TEC crew.

Concession Stands and Restrooms

  • Concession stands/restroom facilities are located on the home and visitor’s side of the stadium.

Visiting Team Information

Playing Surface

The field is an Astro-12 artificial playing surface. Excellent drainage provides a great surface in all conditions.

Scoreboard & Sound System

  • Chaparral Stadium features a 10' x 14' scoreboard.
  • The scoreboard has a high resolution 128 x 192 LED pixels instant replay/graphics screen.
  • The stadium has a state-of-the-art sound system.

Seating

  • Chaparral Stadium seats a total of 10,000.
  • Home side grandstand seats 6,000, including 1354 reserved chair back seats.
  • Visitor side grandstand seats 4,000.
  • Wheelchair accessibility and view are on both sides.

Dressing Facilities

  • Teams will dress in the athletic facilities next to the stadium.
  • Teams and coaches shall have access to training rooms, offices and lockers.
  • Dressing Rooms will be open 2 hours prior to game time.

Press Box

  • Press box will open 1.5 hours prior to game time.
  • Admittance to press box is by pass only. All passes are acquired from the EISD Athletic Secretary.
  • Press Box is 2200 square feet, which includes one level and an elevator.
  • Media/scout area is available in press box.
  • The home coaches booth seats eight.
  • The home radio booth seats five.
  • Visitor’s radio is located on the visitor’s side and seats three.
  • The visitor’s coaches booth is located on the visitor’s side and seats eight. Arrangements can also be made for the visiting coaches to be assigned to the home press box.
  • Field phone communication systems are provided.
  • A video deck is provided for both teams on the home side.

Competing Schools Provide

  • Secure all game officials.
  • Game program and program sellers.
  • Provide EISD Athletic Office with a copy of pre-game tickets sold and a ticket report.
  • Provide EISD Athletic Office with a copy of all passes to be honored and number of complimentary passes.
  • Sign and return Stadium Use Contract.
  • Schools must provide a copy of their liability insurance.
  • Schools must provide a roster by Monday prior to game day – fax to the athletic office at (512) 327-0241.

Playing Field Rules

  • No metal or detachable/screw-on cleats may be worn on the turf.
  • Use of tobacco, sunflower seeds and gum prohibited.
  • Only water can be used on the field. No colored drinks such as Gatorade may be used on field, unless prescribed by a doctor.
  • Absolutely no glass bottles, cans or food allowed on the field.
  • All equipment such as training table, fans, or heaters must have a protective base – make arrangements with the EISD Events & Facilities Coordinator.
  • No live mascots are allowed.
  • No cannons, noisemakers or confetti allowed.
  • Band and drill team props must not mark or scar the field – such as chairs, ladders, etc.
  • Only personnel with sideline passes can be on the field. Spectators are not allowed on the field before or after the game.
  • Taping of signs to any structure will not be permitted.
  • Individuals wanting to video the band or drill team must obtain a pass from the ticket booth. This pass will allow admittance to home stands and visiting stands during halftime.
